Collective beam-beam effects in the LHC

We have studied collective beam-beam effects, both diople
and quadrupole, for the LHC, using our code CBI (for
Collective Beam-beam Interactions). We report on the results
of these simulations for nominal LHC parameters, as well as
when one beam is swept around the other (as a diagnostic
tool for head-on collisions).
