The most unfavourable situation arises at collision energy, while the
beams are still separated. The tune spread arises mostly from the
dodecapolar imperfections of the low-beta triplets. With the present
estimate of the errors, the average amplitude detuning at

It is therefore not possible to rely on natural damping.
